Truthfully speaking, I have been quite lazy to blog these days and there are times when my head is full of thoughts – sane or dirty, it does not really matter but I had no inspiration or determination to journal it down in my private space.
Well, not exactly private since almost everyone in this vast cyberspace can read my postings.
I am going to be the bearer of good news this time round. My father’s second brother, who is my third uncle, tied the knot last week and it was a very auspicious event for my family – both close and extended relatives.
His wedding was held in a hotel in Penang and even though it was not a beach ceremony, the reception was beautiful. I would think of it as a historical event for my family because the last wedding was somewhere in the 1980s. I was not even brought into this world – yet!
Anyway, it was really nice to finally meet up with my cousins and my, all of us have grown since the last we saw each other. One thing I realized was that my cousins and I have a very huge gap and sometimes we can go on without talking to each other. It could be that all of us are shy since there is nothing in common between us.
However, as anti-social as it may sound to you in the previous paragraph, towards middle of the reception, all of us were making jokes and laughing at our silly conversations – which were good.
Weddings are private and fun affairs no matter how arduous the planning can turn out to be but the end result will always be beautiful. Nothing beats the sanctity of two people in love tying the knot in a dazzling ceremony.
Another good news is that I had a front-page byline yesterday. I knew I worked hard for it and did not go through the back alley in getting it – honestly, I feel really happy with my achievement so far.
Among other realizations that hit me was that I am starting to get bored of blogging. Maybe I am growing out of the venting phase because problems are everywhere and what is more important is the way one takes to solve the issues at hand. Ranting helps to ease the load, but not as satisfactory as solving everything one by one. Hmm.
Oh … Christmas and New Year is coming soon. Again, how time flies, eh?
I guess it is time to start scouting for good champagne or wine deals so that when the countdown starts everyone can hold up a flute of champagne and toast to good health and wealth for everyone they know.
And for all of us – time to grow up and be wiser – again!
