Delayed Valentine’s Day Entry

My lovely evening was spent at the restaurant called The Apartment and it was a chic and funky restaurant that was inspired by the lifestyles of urbanites. I have wined and dined there several times with my good friends and took a liking to the atmosphere of the restaurant and what more – the concept and ambiance of the whole space.

Dining in The Apartment is not the same as other restaurants because this place is intoxicated with comfort because it escapes the normal restaurant culture. The concept is very laid back in my opinion and one can just mull over a cup of hot chocolate alongside a good read when dining in there. One of the reasons why I chose this place to dine in on Valentine’s Day is because of the ambiance – I love tranquility.

Anyway, the dinner was a rushed one because I could not get through their contact number since we came back late from lunch due to unexpected plans to drop by Times Square and Borders. However, it was nice of them to maintain my reservation with my name on the small plastic placard. The person spelt my name wrongly though. How sad, no?

Dinner was a three-course meal – comprised of a mild spicy seafood soup as starter. The soup was satisfactory to me as the prawns, squid, clams and mussel were succulent enough and the broth had fresh seaweeds in it too. As for our main platter we were allowed to choose from the three options - chicken, lamb or fish. We opted for the roasted chicken and it came with a dollop of mashed potatoes and stir-fried vegetables such as zucchini, capsicums and vice versa. I took quite some time to finish my chicken because I was still full from lunch but when dessert came I could almost feel myself salivating over the strawberries and cream with meringue and topped with melted chocolate. It was a sweet affair – the dessert and I …

But of course it was also an amazing yet simple night-cum-dinner with the person whom I was with. Honestly, this post has been put on hold for way too long and I cannot seem to remember the entire menu properly. I’m getting old, ancient, maybe? Sounds like a joke of the year, no?
I hope the photos will make you salivate like the previous entry. I’m mean!
Off topic; I don’t have a photo of the soup because I dug into it too quickly and by the time I realized that I did not take a photo of the soup, the clams and mussel were already disorientated from the way it was arranged by the chef … *laughs*
aargh… i’m not hungry and yet.. aargh!
this post made me want to go back to malaysia. just to try this resto. hehehe.
