La Risata
On the 9th of March, my close friends decided to celebrate my birthday — in advance because the official day falls on a Monday (10th March; which is today) and everyone has to be in school to attend lectures. Anyway, to cut the long story short it was one of the best dinner parties I ever had not to mention that memorable conversations and moments I had had with my close friends a few hours ago.
They took me to La Risata; an Italian restaurant located around the housing area in Ampang. At first I thought I knew where they were taking me because the road seemed too familiar but my I was wrong because it was a different place rather than the one I had in mind.
We walked into the restaurant and confirmed the table booking and were seated at the quiet corner where we can see the chef preparing the dishes because we were near the kitchen entrance. Albeit the restaurant vicinity was quite small but it was comfortable in its own ways. All of us settled down and I was puzzled why Juls asked for a table for five and before I could say anything I saw someone walking into the restaurant and it was Amir!
Amir; a new found friend from a forum that I used to frequent and because of certain similarities we clicked instantly. He clicked with Juls’ too and apparently she asked him to attend the dinner party too. My … I was so dumbfounded and shy because I never thought I’d see him so soon because I was planning to meet up with him one of the days; as to when we are free and relished from our duties.
We ordered our meals; Juls and I had lamb chops and lamb shank as our mains, Amir decided to have Carbonara while Victor and Dylan chose Pizza Hawaiana. It was a sumptuous meal indeed and while eating all of us buzzed away with different topics for conversation. It felt amazing and was smashing!
Finally the time came for my to blow the candles and cut the cake and seriously I wanted to run and hide because they sang the traditional Birthday song. Well, I am a really shy person literally. Juls and Dylan presented my with a singing Birthday card and everything was written in Bahasa Malaysia and I nearly rolled on the floor laughing because of their wishes and messages. It was so hilarious! The best was the cake where both of them told the baker to write this message — Happy Rocket Day! Hidup Kyels! (Happy Rocket Day! Long Live Kyels!)
Damn … It was a smashing night with a group of great friends and the memories will live within my being for eternity! Thanks for giving me such an awesome night and with the surprises and presents! I do appreciate everything that has been done and I do cherish you guys — so much!

Guys, thanks for the great night and the presents. I do appreciate the gifts and the celebration. It may be simple but the company was enough to make my smile and the memories will be with me forever!

We had a public holiday here (Labour Day) so everyone enjoyed a long weekend, including my dad who had his birthday party on the weekend as well.
